Emergency Diagnostic Services: Rapid, Accurate Diagnosis When Every Moment Matters

At Gippsland Pet Emergency, we know that in critical situations, getting an accurate diagnosis quickly can make all the difference in saving your pet’s life. That’s why we offer comprehensive emergency diagnostic services, including advanced digital imaging such as X-rays and ultrasounds, as well as on-site pathology. With these cutting-edge tools, we can diagnose your pet’s condition rapidly, ensuring timely treatment when every moment counts.

Advanced Digital Imaging

Our hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic technology to help us get to the root of your pet’s condition quickly and efficiently.

Gippsland Pet Emergency - Pet Diagnostic Services

Digital X-rays: Whether your pet has suffered trauma, a fracture, or is experiencing internal issues like lung or heart problems, our digital X-ray system provides clear, detailed images that allow us to assess their condition immediately.

Ultrasound imaging: For soft tissue injuries or internal organ issues, ultrasound is a non-invasive way to visualise your pet’s organs in real time. This is especially useful for diagnosing conditions such as tumours, fluid accumulation, or blockages in the gastrointestinal tract.

On-Site Pathology for Faster Results

In addition to imaging, our emergency hospital offers on-site pathology services. This means we can analyse blood, urine, and tissue samples without delay, providing quicker results. By having immediate access to laboratory data, we can rapidly diagnose conditions, allowing us to start treatment right away.

Expert, Round-the-Clock Diagnostic Care

Our experienced veterinary team works over the weekends and Public Holidays, utilising these diagnostic tools to accurately diagnose and treat a wide range of emergency conditions. We understand that your pet’s health is your top priority, and our team is committed to providing the most precise and timely care possible.

What is an emergency?

A pet emergency is any sudden and severe health issue that requires immediate veterinary attention to prevent serious harm or death. Common emergencies include difficulty breathing, seizures, trauma from accidents, poisoning, or severe pain.

If your pet shows signs of distress, rapid medical intervention is often necessary to stabilise their condition and prevent further complications.

What is NOT an emergency?
Non-emergencies for pets include routine care such as vaccinations, grooming, and annual check-ups. These services are important for maintaining your pet's health but don't require immediate attention. Issues like mild skin irritations, slight limping without pain, or occasional vomiting may also be monitored at home before scheduling a regular vet visit.
