Aftercare and Follow Up
Aftercare and Follow Up
At Gippsland Pet Emergency, our dedication to your pet’s health extends beyond emergency care. We understand that aftercare and follow-up are essential for a full recovery, which is why we provide personalised aftercare plans and follow-up appointments. To ensure continuity in your pet’s care, we work closely with your regular GP veterinarian, collaborating with them throughout your pet’s recovery. Rest assured, we’re here to support your pet’s healing journey without taking them away from their trusted vet.
Personalised Aftercare Plans
Following emergency treatment, our veterinary team provides you with a tailored aftercare plan, which includes:
- Medication instructions: Clear guidance on administering any prescribed medications, such as antibiotics, pain relief, or anti-inflammatories.
- Wound or surgical site care: Instructions for monitoring and cleaning wounds or surgical sites to promote healing and prevent infection.
- Diet and activity guidance: Tips for adjusting your pet’s diet and activity levels, ensuring they recover safely without strain.
Follow-Up Appointments
After an emergency, follow-up care is critical to ensure your pet continues to heal. We offer follow-up appointments to monitor progress, adjust treatment plans if needed, and address any concerns. We share all findings with your pet’s regular vet, ensuring a seamless transition back to their care once your pet has stabilised.
Collaborative and Compassionate Care
Our goal is to work in harmony with your regular veterinarian, not to replace them. By partnering with your pet’s primary vet, we ensure they receive the best possible care without disrupting their established medical routine. Contact us on 03 5623 4421 to schedule follow-up care or if you have questions about your pet’s recovery.
